Curatorial Insights and Floor Talks

I hope you have been enjoying the Glimpse of Living Colour previews in the lead up to the exhibition premiere this week.  You may recall that I received 171 entries from 160 textile artists for this exhibition. Many people have asked me how I selected the 32 finalists. This  Living Colour Selection Process post gives you some insights into my curatorial selection process and some takeaway tips.

For more curatorial insights, I invite you to join me on one of my floor talks – daily at 1.30pm at the Australasian Quilt Convention (Melbourne: 10-13 April) and daily at 12.30pm at the Creative Textile Show (Canberra 2-4 May).

  1. I wish I could be there for one of your floor talks, but this won’t be possible. Are any of the floor talks likely to be recorded? It would be great to be able to see a video.

    • I have been exploring video options. The most likely possibility is to get some video and artist clips when the exhibition is at Gosford Regional Gallery in 2015. (I will be well- practiced by then!). In the meantime, the focus is on launching the online gallery and hard copy catalogue. Watch this space!
