Final Exhibition: Des Moines 10 September-3 October

Living Colour! concludes its international tour at AQS Quilt Week Des Moines, Iowa: 30 September-3 October 2015.  Thank you to the American Quilters’ Society for showcasing this exhibition.

I would love to include YOUR artwork in a matter of time, my next travelling exhibition that will be on tour in 2016/2017.  To submit an entry, please review the Conditions of Entry and complete the Online Entry Form. The closing date for entries is 15 January 2016 (11.59pm Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time). International entries are welcome!

Living Colour! at Chattanooga and 2015 SAQA Benefit Auction

This week Living Colour! is on exhibition at AQS Quilt Week Chattanooga, Tennessee from 16-19 September 2015.  I have a roving “reporter” stopping by later in the show but if you are going on Wednesday or Thursday, I would love to see a photo or two.

2015 SAQA Benefit Auction

The 2015 SAQA Benefit Auction also opens this week.  This is the signature fundraising event for Studio Art Quilt Associates. Your purchases help increase the recognition for art quilts and the artists who make them while supporting SAQA’s exhibitions, publications, and education outreach. ALL Benefit Auction quilts, including artwork donated by Living Colour! artists and the curator,  will be available for $1,000 each on 18 September as part of a Diamond Day promotion. This early bidding window will remain in effect until September 21 at 1:30pm EDT.

Over 40 artists participating in the 2015 SAQA Benefit Auction have provided videos that show their creative process. Take a look and be inspired!

As a curator, one of my key tasks is to look after the artworks entrusted to my care.  It is always an act of faith, and a little nerve wracking, to put artworks into the postal system but the Express Post International service offered by Australia Post has again proved to be efficient, economical and reliable.  From Copacabana to Paducah in seven days:

Living Colour at the Nautilus Arts Centre

The exhibition at in the Nautilus Arts Centre Rotary Gallery at Port Lincoln, South Australia ends on Thursday, 25 June 2015.  The gallery kindly sent this set of photos.  It’s fun to see how the artwork looks on the blue background.  The colour really pops!

Living Colour at Port Lincoln 8-25 June 2015

Living Colour! tours next to the Nautilus Arts Centre in Port Lincoln, South Australia from 8-25 June 2015.  This will be the last outing in Australia before the exhibit travels to the United States.  Please share with any of your friends that might be able to visit the exhibition.  

Gosford Regional Gallery Update

Gosford Regional Gallery is fully open following the recent storm. Gallery hours are 10am-4pm  daily and admission is free.  Due to gallery renovations, the Living Colour! exhibition will now close on Monday afternoon, 25 May (rather than 27 May). Information about the operating hours of the cafe and gardens are set out below.

Curator floor talks are scheduled for 2pm on Saturday 2 May and 16 May 2015.  All welcome!

The Gallery restaurant ceased trading on Tuesday 21 April 2015. Renovations of the Gallery restaurant will commence on 1 May and will continue until 12 May. The restaurant will be closed during this period and will reopen for trading on the morning of Wednesday 13 May.

Internal renovations to the Gallery will take place from Monday 4 May until Friday 29 May 2015. The Gallery will remain open for normal trading during the renovations, there will be some temporary changes to access during this time.

Please note that the Garden will be closed from 11 until 22 May inclusive for essential maintenance. The Gallery building, including exhibition space, Gallery shop and cafe, will remain open as normal during this period.
