This week Living Colour! is on exhibition at AQS Quilt Week Chattanooga, Tennessee from 16-19 September 2015.  I have a roving “reporter” stopping by later in the show but if you are going on Wednesday or Thursday, I would love to see a photo or two.

2015 SAQA Benefit Auction

The 2015 SAQA Benefit Auction also opens this week.  This is the signature fundraising event for Studio Art Quilt Associates. Your purchases help increase the recognition for art quilts and the artists who make them while supporting SAQA’s exhibitions, publications, and education outreach. ALL Benefit Auction quilts, including artwork donated by Living Colour! artists and the curator,  will be available for $1,000 each on 18 September as part of a Diamond Day promotion. This early bidding window will remain in effect until September 21 at 1:30pm EDT.

Over 40 artists participating in the 2015 SAQA Benefit Auction have provided videos that show their creative process. Take a look and be inspired!

*Studio Art Quilt Associates offers many exhibition, network and mentoring opportunities for its members. If you’ve been thinking about joining SAQA, add the discount code “WKS ” to the application form (and add my name Brenda Gael Smith in the referral field) and you will receive a 10% discount on the membership fee.
