Mathea and Anne’s textile works are featured in Issue 88 of New  Zealand Quilter, a fantastic magazine that showcases and reviews New Zealand quiltmaking with a small but thoughtful selection of projects.

Issue 88 also highlights the blog and podcasts of Charlotte Scott including this blog post:  Summer Dragonfly- the process of creating a Living Colour quilt.

With able assistance from Glenda W, Living Colour! was hung at the Sydney Quilt Show in record time. The new exhibition venue at Glebe Island has fantastic natural lighting and the collection shines:

Catching the ferry back to Darling Harbour was a breeze and I got to enjoy a new view of the city.

Living Colour in Machine Quilting Unlimited

Look out for the colourful July/August 2014 issue of Machine Quilting Unlimited that is available in both digital and print formats. This issue includes:

  • an article featuring nine works from the Living Colour! exhibition by the following artists: Betty Busby, Sandy Corry, Sue Dennis, Christine Dowell, Sue Duffy, Susan Mathews, Charlotte Scott, Sarah Ann Smith and Annie White; and
  • an expandedversion of my blog post on how to make a special combined hanging sleeve with hook and loop (aka velcro) casing that is suitable for conventional hanging rod systems and carpet walls

How to get to the Sydney Quilt Show

Living Colour! next tours to the Sydney Quilt Show, Craft & Quilt Fair from 9-13 July 2014 with a curator floor talk daily at 1.30pm.  The Sydney Exhibition Centre venue has relocated to Glebe Island but there are FREE ferries and buses from Darling Harbour (10 minutes), Central Station (25 minutes) and Circular Quay (30 minutes).  Click this infographic or check out the Craft & Quilt Fair website for more information.
